On January 24, 1980 in Thomasville, GA, Latorria Gwenette Samuel Austin was born to Essie Mae Samuel. She was the first born child followed by the birth of her baby sister in 1982. Latorria spent her days being a devoted mother to Dontell, Jr. and Dayoun Austin. When she wasn’t illuminating a successful path for her boys to pursue, she was enlightening the lives of her many family members and dear friends, rather you were with her yelling over a game of spades or attending a Boston Celtics NBA game, she was a radiant woman to be in the presence of.

Latorria departed this earthly life on Friday, July 28, 2023 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nathaniel and Johnnie Mae Samuel, and two special Aunts. She leaves to cherish her memory her precious boys: Dontell Ramone Austin, Jr. and Dayoun Jameer Austin both of Atlanta, GA; a wonderful Mother: Essie Moore (Kenneth) Valdosta, GA; a loving Sister: Nikki Stewart (Jermaine) Atlanta, GA; a caring half Brother: Johnta D.  Thomas (Djuana) Suffolk, VA; a caring half Sister: Monique L. Thomas Norfolk, VA; Two special friends: Nigeria Blanchard, of Pensacola, FL and Adriane Chism of Atlanta, GA; three special nephews: Jaterrious, Ja’Mari, and Javion Jones; and a host of other special nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Latorria “Torria” Austin’s contagious smile and outgoing personality will be missed, but never forgotten.

As she would say, she lived her life “Just Fine” so don’t cry for her, dance.
