James Lee Banks was born on January 13, 1949 in Thomas County to the late Lorene Banks and the late Earl Lee Morrow. He graduated from Douglass High School in 1969. After graduating, he enlisted in the United Army, where he served in the Vietnam. Later, he attended Thomas Jefferson University. On September 6, 1976, he received a degree as a Nurse Practitioner. He began working at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where he remained for 38 years until retirement. He also was a professor at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA On May 15, 1994, he was ordained as a Pastor by the Pentecostal Bridegroom Church in Philadelphia, PA by Bishop Ronald L. Young. He resided to Stratford, NJ, where he resided until death. He was an active member of Douglass Alumni is Thomasville, GA. He leaves to cherish his memories, his sisters, Mary Helen Banks, and Jessie Mae Thomas, both of Fayetteville, NC; special friends, Eddie Mae Walker, and Hager Walker, both of Thomasville, GA and a host of nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, Lorene Banks and Earl Lee Morrow, brothers, Robert Banks, John Banks, Leroy Banks, Otis “Bruce” Banks.
