James E. Jackson

Obituary

Mr. James E. Jackson was born on October 30, 1942 in Thomasville, GA to the late Isabelle Stafford Jackson and late Arthur L. Jackson, Sr. He is known for his charming ways and was loved by all.

James accepted Christ at a young age at Morning Star Baptist Church in Meigs, GA. James attended Ochlocknee Elementary School and Magnolia High School. He went on to Walter Technical Division where he mastered Brick Mason. James married his high school sweetheart Vera Mae Brooks Jackson on August 12, 1965.

If you knew James, you would know he was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed Deer Hunting, Fishing, and Gardening for the Windsor Lake Community, where he is known for his green thumb. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge District 10 of Thomasville, GA. James worked many years at Sunny Land Packing Company, he went on to Seaboard Coastline Railroad where he retired and went on to Flowers Baking Company, where he also retired.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his three loving daughters, Priscilla Jackson Lee (William) Atlanta GA, Camille Jackson (Gregory) Thomasville GA, Melissa Jackson Hines (Frank); two charming sons, Darius Jackson, Thomasville, GA, Collie Harris (Sandra) Broxton, GA; three sisters, Annie D. Wright, Ochlocknee, GA, Rosa L. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur L. Jackson, Sr. and mother, Isabelle Stafford Jackson; brothers, Arthur L. Jackson, Jr., Willie Jackson, Albert Jackson, Richmond Jackson, and Charles Jackson; two step brothers, Arthur L. Shaw, I., Jimmy L. Shaw; special nephew, Keith Nixon, sister in law and brothers in law, Lillie Minter, Rufus Minter, and Robert Smith, Jr.
