Obituary

Henry Thomas Hill was born September 23, 1938, in Camp Hill, Alabama to the late Tim Hill and Jannie Boleware Doss.

Henry moved to Jersey City, New Jersey, where he met and married Savannah Coleman on March 3, 1962. Two children were born of this union, Linda Denise Hill, and Thomas Bernard Hill.

After retirement from Inland Steel Container Company, where he was employed as a booth/painter operator, Henry and Savannah relocated to Thomasville, Georgia.

His favorite hobbies were sports, playing football and basketball where is got his nickname “Rabbit” from, watching boxing, and super bowls. “Daddy you won the bet this year”. Baseball, where he was the local umpire for a few years, hunting and fishing. He brought home all kind of animals (Deer, Rabbits, Turtles, and Catfish). He also enjoyed playing spades. He won some and lost some, but it was always fun to listen to him talk about you if he Won. Guess that were his other nickname came from “Gabby”.

He was preceded in death by, his father, Tim Hill, mother, Jannie Boleware Doss, brothers, Tyrone “BoBo” Doss, James Doss, John Eddie Doss, sisters, Girtha Hill, and Kimberly Hill.

Our gentle giant is survived by his loving wife, Savannah Coleman Hill (Wimp), daughter, Linda Denise Wills (Skipper) of Thomasville, GA; son, Thomas Bernard Hill (Jethica) Hillside, NJ; grandchildren, Ian J. Wills (Kaitlyn), Rockaway, NJ, Brianna A. Hill Ballard (Michael) (BreBee), Newark, NJ, Justin L. Jones (Baby Justice), Norwood, PA; brothers, John T. Hill (Ellen), Bernard Doss of Camp Hill, AL; sisters, Emma P Swann, Marilyn Ponds and Essie Veasley of Atlanta, GA, Jimmy Lou Dowdell and Betty Buchanan and Linda Avery of Camp Hill, AL, Shirley Hughley of Lafayette, AL, Crystal Hill of Englewood,  NJ, Genell Hill of Jersey City, NJ; sister-in-law, Hattie L. Broxton of Thomasville, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
