Gledis “Joyce” Blake Green

Gledis “Joyce” Blake Green was born on March 7, 1962, in Roswell, New Mexico to Robert E. Blake and the late Betty J. Revels Blake. She departed this life on the evening of October 1, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.

She graduated from Clarkston High School in Clarkston, GA in 1980. She attended college at Georgia Southwestern State University where she was initiated into the A.K.A Sorority. She also attended Albany State University.

She became an employee of Archbold Memorial Hospital in 1987 where she faithfully worked until her untimely death (36 years) in 2023.

Gledis was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was devoted to her Pleasant Hill C.M.E Church family.

Gledis leaves to cherish her great loving memories: her husband, Michael Green; son, Terrence Blake (Lutrena); daughters, Melody Jones (Gerald) and Robin Blake; stepson, Michael C. Green; father, Robert E. Blake (Delores); brothers, Roderick E. Blake and Joshua O. Blake; sister, Ayahna D. Booker (John); grandsons, Jaylen Jones, Terrence Blake Jr, Amod Turner, Michael Green Jr, and Me’shaiq Green; granddaughters, Jaya Jones, Jayde Jones, Taylor Bradley, Lauryn Grace Blake, and Amiriyah Green; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was proceeded in death by mother, Betty J. Revels Blake; brother, Kerwin (Kerry) Blake; and grandparents, Grant and Gledis Revels and Ella Blake.
