Mrs. Betty Arrington was born on April 21, 1948, to the union of the late Andrew Gardner Sr. and the late Hattie Mae Mitchell-Gardner in Thomasville, Georgia. She graduated from Douglas High School. She entered into the bond of Holy Matrimony to Mr. Jeremiah Arrington, Sr. on August 1, 1980. They were blessed with four children.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Willow Head Missionary Baptist Church, where she served for several years as a Silas Brinson Gospel Choir President, Pastor’s Aide, and served on both Mission ministries. She accepted her calling into the ministry of the Gospel under the direction of the late Emeritus Silas Brinson, and was ordained at Mount Zion Bible Institute in Thomasville, Georgia. She was a strong woman of God that lived a consistent Christian life. She devoted much of her time and energy working and retiring after 29 years from Walmart Supercenter in Thomasville in 2022.
Minister Arrington departed this life on Sunday, October 1, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Gardner Sr., mother, Hattie Mae Mitchell-Gardner, sisters, Patricia Walden, Minister Lillie Mae Lee, Deborah Asbey, and Gregory Gardner, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Jeremiah Arrington, Sr., her loving children, Michael Gardner, Sr., Ronnie B. Gardner (VaShawn), Paula A. Gardner, and Jeremiah Arrington, Jr.; her siblings, Andrew Gardner, Jr. (Derry), Mathis Gardner (Aletha), Tirene Heard (Otis, Sr.), Tammie Gardner-Watts (E’nita), brothers-in-law, Shelly Lee, Jr., Jerome Asbey; grandchildren, Michael Gardner, Jr., Justin Gardner, Michael Gardner, III, Antwuan (Adrian) Gardner, Ronandez Gardner, Danyell Davis (Floyd), Jasmyne Spivey, Shakahri Spivey, Jamalia White, and Ramorrian Wilson, twenty great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
