Zion Alonzo Anderson, departed his life on Sunday November 27, 2022 at his residence. He was born May 22, 1942, in Thomasville Ga to the late Willie Anderson Sr. and Charlie Mae Harris Anderson. He received his education in Thomasville public schools. He was a truck driver for many years, when the roads got dangerous, he soon retired and got into the pecan and watermelon business, where he invested 40 years working at Southern Pecan Company and Stone Pecan Groves. If he wasn't home, you could always find him sitting at his 2nd home, the Southern Pecan Company. Zion was best known as the man you didn't mess with, he always kept it real. When he wasn't working, You could find him sitting at a convenient store playing the lottery, fishing, or sitting at "The Shop". He had a heart of gold and would help anybody in need. He loved the lord and never went to sleep at night without getting on his knees to pray to the "Good Lord" as he would say. Zion was more than an amazing father and husband, to many he was a friend, a protector, a brother, an uncle, a granddaddy, a cousin, a comforter, understanding, trustworthy, dependable and could always turn your frown into a laugh with his great stories.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife of 17 years, Earnestine Anderson, of Thomasville GA; his daughters, Ziandria Anderson, Zitivia Anderson, Teresa Belcher, Frances Johnson, and Sharon Richardson all of Thomasville, GA; his son, Zion Anderson Jr. of St. Petersburg FL; his sister-in law. Doris Dickey; his sons-in-law, Harrell Johnson, and Najor Richardson all of Thomasville, GA; his brother-in-law, Lord Dickey; and a special friend, Debbie McBride and family. Zion also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.
His was proceeded in death by his sisters, Willie Bell Johnson, Alberta (Thomas) Glenn, and Cynthia Carter; brothers, Willie Lee Anderson, Jr., James Edward Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, and Lorenzo A. Anderson; his son , Anthony Lavard Anderson, Sr.; his sister-in-law, Ella Mae Manning; his son-in-law, David Belcher and A special friend who he cherished dearly, Julian Davis "Bird" McBride, Jr.
