Willie Joe Hunter, Sr. was born October 28, 1949 in
Thomasville, Georgia to the late Fannie Mae Lloyd.
Mr. Hunter attended Douglas High School in
Thomasville, Georgia.
Following high school, he married his high school sweet
heart Josephine Keys in the month of September, 1969.
Together they welcomed Sabrana and Willie Joe Hunter,
Jr. into this world.
Willie Joe was an exceptional, skilled carpenter who
preferred to work alone, with great pride in his hard
work. Those who knew and loved him will remember
his big smile and never-ending humor. To his siblings,
he will always be revered as "the oldest" as he never
missed a chance to remind them.
Mr. Hunter was relieved of this world to a peaceful
home of eternity on September 19, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Fannie Lloyd
Garland, brother: Eli Garland, and sisters: Sandra Hunter
and Ramona Porch Ramsby.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories: Children:

Grandchildren: Tequila Hunter, D'Marion Hunter

Wilkeara Hunter (Tallahassee, FL), Megan Bass (Atlanta,
GA), Great grandchildren: Z'Marion Hunter, Jayden
Hudson, Kydomra Adams (Thomasville, GA), Sister:
LaVone Bowdry (Ricardo) of Thomasville, GA, Brothers:
Timothy Hunter, Yancy Garland (Thomasville, GA),
Leroy Hunter, Dorsey Garland (VA), Aunts: Mary
Mitchell and Martha Filmore (Thomasville, GA), and a
host of special nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
