Wayne Morris Carruthers' story began on May 20, 1955. He was the second child and only son born to the late Morris Gachette Carruthers and Mattie Bryant Carruthers in Fitzgerald, Georgia. At about age 7, Wayne and his family moved to Thomasville, Georgia. He attended Thomasville High School and Southwest Georgia Technical School. Wayne was very talented. He was known for his ability to lead, tear down and build any engine, wire any house, lay brick, paint. He understood how things were supposed to be put together and if he didn't, he would say "I know somebody." He loved to grow plants, especially succulents, palms and fruit trees. He loved to cook. Wayne was a big man in stature, physically strong…...tough. All who knew him knew his vices, but they also knew he was always willing to help when called on.
His ability to build, create, and design was awesome.
He accepted Christ at an early age, and was raised in Saint Luke C.M.E. Church.
He married in 1976. To this union, one daughter was born, Wianisha.
Wayne transitioned this life on November 8, 2020, after a lengthy battle with complications related to diabetes and heart disease. He was 65 years old.
He leaves to celebrate his life, one daughter, four grandchildren, a step-daughter, Kiba, three sisters and two brother-in-laws, Debra Njagi (Njagi Makanga), Angela Young(Wilbert) and Catherine Carruthers; several aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, countless friends, and a special, longtime friend, Evelyn Brown.
Rest now in eternal peace brother.
