Walter Walden, Jr. was born on January 10, 1955 to the lateWalter Walden Sr., and Ardelle Holland Clark in Thomasville, GA.
Walter matriculated in the Thomasville City School system, and went on to pursue an undergraduate degree at Thomas College. He was the Chairman Deacon at Eagles' Nest Deliverance Tabernacle in Thomasville, GA where he was a lifelong member. Walter was a long-time employee and retiree from Southwestern State Hospital (Rose Haven Unit) as well as The Phoenix (Substance Abuse Clinic).
He married Emma Grace Gatlin in the summer of 1978. To this union, they had four sons together: Christopher (Nicole) Walden of Crestview FL, Adrian (Apri) Walden of St. Augustine, FL, Nicholas (Britainy) Walden of Crestview, FL, and Sadarius Walden of Thomasville, GA. They had special godsons, Markese Henderson of Tampa, FL and Chris Jones of Thomasville, GA.
He also leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings, Carolyn (Carl) Aaron of Clarkston, GA, John (Karen) Clark of Apopka, FL, Cynthia Clark of Thomasville, GA, and Terry (Shannon) Clark of Snellville, GA; In-laws, Willie Monroe, Jr of Thomasville, GA, Mary Collins of Valdosta, GA, Claretha Ham of Thomasville, GA, and Sandra (Ellis) Cooper of Crawfordville, FL. He is survived by his loving Mother, Ardelle Holland Clark. His absolute pride and joy were his grandchildren: Alicia Burgess, Caden Walden, Jayla Walden, Jasai Walden, Jahvon Walden, Jayla Huggins, Sadarius Bean (AJ), Thaila Walden, Tyson Drew, Gracelyn McCraw. Great-grandchildren Delilah Wilson and Jaquez Wilson Jr. His surviving aunts and uncles, Ida Mitchell, Flora Philips, Eva Wheeler, and Roosevelt Holland.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emma Walden, his father, Walter Walden, Sr; a sister, Gussie Walden, Christine Walden; mother-in-law, Carrie Lee Gatlin-Monroe; grandchildren, Kingston Ahmad Hart, and Ambria Shambrae; special aunt, Cora L. House; special friends like brothers: John Young, JT Thomas, and Jerry Hayes.
There was a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special relatives and friends. Walter was so proud of a special group known as the Class of 74. Walter loved good music and good laughs. He was the life of any and every party. He will be missed at every special gathering for years to come.
