IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tyron
McClain
May 15, 1965 – January 8, 2026
Mr. Tyron Oneal McClain was born May 15, 1965, in Augusta, GA. He departed this life January 8, 2026, at the Harborview Nursing Home in Thomasville, GA. He was the only child of the late Jessie Mae McClain. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eula Mae and George McClain, Sr.
Tyron attended the Thomas and Grady Training Center in Thomasville, GA, until his health began to decline. His passion for people was immeasurable. He loved being in the presence of kind and loving people.
He was one of the founding members of the Church In The Yard. In 2020, after the closure of the church, services were held on the porch of Tyron’s residence. He loved every minute of it. He sang, clapped and praised the Lord, the way he knew how. He wasn’t ashamed to let you know he loved the Lord. Just a few days ago, he was asking for his pastor, the late Pastor LeNard Spears, Sr.
In his family, he was the light that shone so brightly. The true definition of love that flows from above. He also loved staying at Glory Davis' residence, his home away from home.
He was cared for by a special cousin, Mrs. Joyce Spears, until her health began to fail and he needed more direct care.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his first cousins, Joyce Spears, Brenda Calhoun, Janice Johnson, Sherry McClain, and Marina Kerr, Clyde Johnons, Willie Burkes, Jr., Charles Johnson, Daniel Graham, and Lonnie Robinson, Jr.; special friends, Jimmy “Ben” Rackley, Christion and Olivia Stewart and a host of second cousins, other cousins and relatives.
Tyron was preceded in death by his aunts and uncles, Lola Bell (Levi) Brinson, Ruby (Eddie) Johnson, Annie Lee (Willie James) Burkes, Sr., Carol (Lonnie) Robinson, Sr., Homer McClain and George (Mary Frances) McClain, Jr.
