Tavaris Jontae Perry, known as Tatahead, was born in Thomasville, GA to Melinda Perry-Johnson on July 8, 1984. He departed this life on
November 24, 2022, in Tallahassee, FL.
Tavaris was a graduate of Gretchen Everhart Highschool, where he loved interacting with his peers. While attending Gretchen Everhart Highschool, Tavaris took pride in participating in school activities such as the Special Olympics. Tavaris and his teammates won first place in the basketball and football tournament. He also showed determination while competing in the 100-yard dash that year. Later, Tavaris was able to attend the Adult Education Program at Tallahassee Community College. The program offered hands-on job training and life skills lessons that Tavaris enjoyed learning. Tavaris was always open to new experiences during his educational career which sparks a passion for wanting to work at Walmart one day.
Tavaris was a kind-hearted, tender spirit who absolutely loved spending time with his family, especially with his nieces and nephews. He had a love for music, dancing, movies, video games, watching his wrestling shows, and eating a good meal. Tavaris displayed responsible characteristics within his household because he was always willing to help with chores, for a small fee. Each week Tavaris would look to his stepfather to get paid. However, Tavaris's greatest accomplishment was the love he showed toward his mother. His genuine concern about his mother's well-being was evident as Tavaris would wait up to make sure she got home from work each night. The love Tavaris had for his mother was seen in every tender moment they shared together.
Tavaris was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, ElderLawrence Perry.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his dedicated and loving mother, Melinda Perry-Johnson and his stepfather, Johnny Johnson; his grandmother, Alma Perry; his two brothers, Fanterri Perry and Ricky Christopher Jr. of Tallahassee, FL; his two sisters, Erica Perry of Tallahassee, FL and stepsister, Kadaja Bell of Cairo, GA. Tavaris also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
