Sylvia Lanette Ricks, affectionately known as "Net," passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on April 25, 1957, in Pavo, GA, Sylvia was a cherished member of her community, growing up in a loving family environment where she made many friendships.

Sylvia dedicated her career to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Brian Center. Her compassionate spirit and nurturing nature endeared her to those she met, and she will be remembered fondly as a loving friend, mother, aunt, and cousin.

A proud graduate of Thomas County Central Schools, Sylvia remained connected to her roots throughout her life. She is survived by her two sons, Mickey Ricks and Gary Sparrow, her brothers Claude Ricks and Charles Ricks, and a host of nieces, nephews, grandkids, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her sister, Nettie Mae Davis, and her son, Charles Ricks. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
