Susie Rushing

February 19, 1935 — August 11, 2024

Susie Rushing was born on February 19, 1935 in Ochlocknee, GA to the late Claude Lovejoy and Susie Williams-Lovejoy.

She attended Coolidge Elementary School. At an early age, she joined Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served until her death. She retired from Nabisco Bakery of Chicago Ill after 40 years of services.

She joined in Holy Matrimony to Van Rushing on 21st day of December in the year of  1967, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death is father, Claude Lovejoy, mother, Susie W. Lovejoy, brother, Tommy Lee Williams and sister, Love Lee Harris.

She is survived by a daughter, Diane Lovejoy, Thomasville, Georgia; one son, Marcus Rushing, St. Paul,  Minnesota; one grandson, Brian Lovejoy (Alethea Lovejoy) St. Louis, Missouri; three great grandson, Brian T. Lovejoy, Ryan Franklin, Marcellus Lovejoy and two great granddaughters, Kayla Braggs and Paris Godwin; two great great grandsons, Brian T. Lovejoy Jr., Kyrin Greer; one great great granddaughter, K miyah Greer; one brother, James (Jimmy) Lovejoy, Brooklyn, New York; four sisters, Lucille Lovejoy, Thomasville, Georgia, Johnnie Lovejoy, Jersey City, New Jersey, Mary Cochran, Thomasville, Georgia, Daisy Redding, Locust Grove, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
