Sibyl Elaine Ford Scott, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Memorial Hermann Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Ms. Scott was born to Heven and Hazel Ford on November 13, 1958 in Thomasville, Georgia.
Ms. Scott graduated in 1976 from Thomasville High school in Thomasville, Georgia. She then attended Thomas Area Technical school and graduated on February 24, 1978; receiving a degree as a license vocational nurse. She began her nursing career at Archbold Hospital in March 1978 through June 1986 when she moved to Houston, Texas. She continued her nursing career in Houston doing contract nursing from 1986 through 2005. In December 2005 she found her home working at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston where she retired in 2015. She was a dedicated nurse for 37 years and after retirement she continued to reside in Houston, Texas. She was a ray of sunlight, loving mother, daughter, sister and a dear friend. There will never be enough words to describe the incredibly SPECIAL and majestic force that was Sibyl Ford Scott. Her caring and beautiful spirit will continue to live on through the memories of all who knew her.
She is survived by one daughter, Selena Ford; her mother and father, Heven and Hazel Ford; four siblings, Rosalind Moore, Heven (Mary) Ford Jr., Montina (James) Ford Carter, and Etta Lee Reid; beloved aunt, Doris Evans; beloved friend, Margaret Dickens; beloved uncles, Melvin (Matria) Evans and Jamal Nuoo; beloved nieces/nephews, Tekeilla Moore, Christopher (Camille) Ford, Brittani (David) Ford Young, Joseph Reid, Anthony Reid, and Katherine Mackenzie Carter; beloved great niece/nephews: Gabrielle Burrus, Aiden Ford, Alyssa Ford, and Ryker Young and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
