Rubin Hutchins

Rubin (Hutch) Hutchins was born July 16, 1964 to the late Mary Nettie Walden of Meigs GA. He attended school in the Thomas County School System and graduated from Thomas County High School.

Rubin was introduced to Christ at an early age. His mother, Mary Walden, who preceded him in death, made sure that he knew about Jesus and the bible. He was a free spirit and spent most of his adult life coming and going as he pleased. He always had a smile on his face and was not one to complain.

He was the third child of four siblings, all of Meigs, GA. Pamela Jenkins (Charlie), Valerie West (James), and his baby brother, Chad Walden (Krystal), who preceded him in death. He was the father of four children, Shawndra Spencer, Marisha Hutchins, Recarda Hart, Keisha West, and seven grandchildren. Ms. Carolyn Grant and Ms. Berniece Pleasant were his special caregivers and a host of many other relatives and friends.

Hutch, as he was affectionately known, was a sports phenom. He could master any sport, but basketball was his favorite. He was a southpaw, and had a jump shot that would rival any NBA player.

On the morning of March 22, 2023, Rubin peacefully departed this life.
