Rowland Thomas

Rowland Anthony Thomas was born on December 18, 1956 in Thomasville, GA to the late Louis Lee Thomas and Joseph Thomas.

Mr. Thomas joined Mount Pilgram Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He graduated from Thomasville High School in Class of 1975. He worked at Archbold Memorial Hospital for years. He joined the United State Army where he served 13 years. He was a driver for WJ Powell for years, later returning to Archbold Memorial Hospital in Environmental Services. Mr. Thomas was a truck driver until 2009 and drove for several different companies until his health declined.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters, Tamika (Carlos) Duncan, Toya Jones, both of Thomas County, Janae Demps of Grady County; sisters, Diangela (George) Taylor, College Park, GA, Sarah (Freddie) Larry , Pearlie (Jerome) Armster, Cynthia Mitchell, Tasha Mitchell, all of Thomas County, Sandra Mitchell of Grady County; uncle, Henry (Nina) Brown of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Ky'Detrius Thomas, Kwantrez Duncan, Ro'Deja Andrews, Ki'Nyrah Barber, Ro'Marion Andrews, Ro'Shanti Andrews, Ka'Mauni Barber, Kalysse Barber and Eric Jones, Jr. of Thomas County, Madyson Demps of Grady County; two nieces, Tara Taylor and Tiffany Taylor of College Park, GA; one great grandson, Kwantreus Duncan, Jr.; two great nieces, Zariah and Jacqueline James of College Park, GA; one great nephew, Isayah Taylor of College Park, GA; favorite cousin, James Williams, III; special friends, Harriet Mitchell, Lindsey Battle, Sr. and Noah Swain and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert lee, Ola Riles, Robert Thomas and Mary Thomas; two brothers, Joseph Thomas, Jr., and James Alfred Thomas; brother in laws, Harry Mitchell, Henry Mitchell and mother in law, Gertrude Mitchell.
