Reatha Loranne Bevard was the first born child to the late
Alice Mae Bevard on May 10, 1952 in Thomasville, GA.
At the age of thirteen, her mother moved to Davie, FL.
Reatha then attended Hollywood Hills High School in
Hollywood, FL and graduated with the class of 1972.
After finishing high school, she started playing softball,
which she loved being 1st or 2nd place winner. Her team
was The City of Ft. Lauderdale Women's "B" League. Her
team was playoff champs Spring 1985.
Reatha drove the school bus for Broward County for 20
years. During that time, she received a plaque for the "Driver
of the Year" in 1981-1982.
Later, Reatha started working for B&L Yellow Cab as a front
desk receptionist for 25 years. She was highly loved by her
co-workers.
Reatha leaves to cherish her memories, her mate, Maple
Carter of Fort Lauderdale, FL; her brother, William Thomas
Bevard of Thomasville, GA; her sister in law, Evaline Bevard;
niece, Latrell Denise Bevard of Fort Lauderdale, FL; aunts,
Carrie Brock, Deloris Bevard and Mary Bevard of
Thomasville, GA and host of cousins and friends from
Thomasville and Florida that will greatly miss her.
