Phyllis Denise Mitchell Spears was the daughter of the late Lewis Mitchell and Francis Coston Mitchell. She was born on April 29, 1965. She peacefully departed this life on September 25, 2023.

She spent most of her life in Merriville-Coolidge, GA She was a 1983 graduate of Thomas County Central High School.

Shortly after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Lenard Spears, Sr. To this union, they were blessed with two sons, Lenard Spears, Jr. and Antonio Spears, Sr.

Phyllis loved the Lord as she gave her heart to Christ many years ago. She was an active member of The Church In The Yard with Pastor Lenard Spears, Sr., until her health failed her. She was instrumental in raising over fifty children, that she didn't birth. She was a loving person that opened her home to anyone standing in the need.
