Peggie Williams

June 11, 1949 — June 12, 2021

Peggie Williams completed her life's mission and answered God's call to her heavenly home on June 12, 2021. Reared in a loving, Christian home, Peggie accepted Christ as her personal savior and became a faithful member of New Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Thomasville, Georgia.


Peggie was born to the late Malachi Harris and Dollie Mae Ivey on June 11, 1949, in Lenox, Georgia. Later her family moved to Thomasville, Georgia where she graduated from Douglass High


School in 1967. Following graduation, Peggie relocated to Miami,


Florida where she continued her studies at Lindsey Hopkins Technical College. In 1979, Peggie united in marriage to the late Lamar Williams.


Eventually, Peggie relocated back to Thomasville, Georgia where she began her career as a para-educator. Peggie worked at Susie H. Dunlap, Douglass, and J. K. Harper Elementary Schools, as well as Rainbow Reading Development Center. After retiring from the Thomasville City School System in 2014, Peggie returned to work part-time as a bookkeeper at MacIntyre Park Middle School.


To cherish her loving memories, Peggie leaves a daughter, Pamela Denise Harris of Thomasville, GA; a son, Kenneth Lamar Harris (Gaysha) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a mother, Dollie Mae Ivey; a sister, Constance Thomas; two brothers, Larry Harris and Tellis Harris, all of Thomasville, GA; nine grandchildren, Quinitra (Arthur), Tallahassee, FL; Kayle Harris, Gainesville, FL; Kenneth Phillips and Maurice Jordan both of Miami, FL; Debonaire Harris, Jacksonville, FL; Kee'mahd Harris, Boston, MA; Dreya Harris, Tallahassee, FL; three great-grandchildren, Braylen Harris and Brooke Harris both of Thomasville, GA; Jy'Terius Harris, Gainesville, FL; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and an extended family of friends in the educational and religious communities.


Preceding Peggie in death is her father, Malachi Harris; a sister, Kathy Harris McCaskill; and a brother, Charles Harris.
