Pamela Denise Johnson was born on February 27, 1960, in Thomasville, Georgia, to the late Ruthie Lee Hunt Peavy and the late Jimmy Johnson. She was a proud product of Dewey City, where she was affectionately known as "Niecey".
Pamela was a graduate of the Thomasville High School Class of 1978. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church. She later became a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the usher board and the beautification committee for Women's Day and Church Anniversaries.
Pamela was a woman of faith, strength, talent, and compassion. Pamela, alongside her friend Diane Wyche, co-coordinated the Miss Ebony Rose Pageant in the mid-1980s and early 1990s. This highlighted African American teenage girls and showcased their various talents.
Pamela was employed by the City of Thomasville at the Thomasville Police Department for several years. She would later work for Archbold Memorial Hospital for many years as a medical transcriptionist until her health caused her to sit down. Aside from her job at the hospital, she was known as one of Thomasville's finest florists and wedding coordinators. Her hands could turn simple flowers into masterpieces and her heart turned ordinary days into cherished memories. In 2020, she found a passion and hobby for jewelry and became a Paparazzi Jewelry Consultant.
Pamela was a warrior. She fought through the battles of cancer, lupus, congestive heart failure, and kidney failure with incredible strength, grace, and faith. She loved showcasing her strength and perseverance every October by participating in Archbold's Pink Affair Fashion Show for cancer survivors. Pamela was an outstanding mother, a devoted grandmother, and a loving friend to so many.
She was affectionately known as Mama Pam, Auntie Pam GG, or GG Pam to many that she came in contact with.
On Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 11:33 A.M, Pamela took her last breath before transitioning to her eternal home, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
