On October 15,1954, Mildred Deloris Powell-Hudson was born to the late Carlton and Johnnie Lou Powell. She graduated from Thomasville High School in Thomasville, Georgia with the graduating class of 1974. Later, she attended Southwest Georgia Technical College, where she received her Early Childhood diploma.
Mildred, "Lois" as she was affectionately called, dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Lois retired from Georgia Pines. She was a woman who "never met a stranger."
She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Lillie Ruth Gilbert, Tawanda Powell and Mary Williams (Herbert). Lois quietly departed this life on January 8, 2021.
Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband, Deric Hudson; four children, Demetrius Ellis (Nicole) -Thomasville, GA, Shajuana "Keisha" Ellis, - Atlanta, GA, ShaKira Hudson -Thomasville, GA and Ayla Hudson -Thomasville, GA; sister, Melinda Samuel (Tommy); two brothers, Alphonzo Powell and Carlton Powell Jr. (Dorothy); eight grandchildren, Trevarius Wilson, De'Trez Cooper, Kelis Ellis, Ronnyah Mills, Da'Niveah Hudson, Lauren Hudson, Kelani Hudson; three great grandchildren, Aa'laija Wilson, Lendon Wilson and Amaziah Cooper and a host of nieces and nephews. Her life will also be cherished in the lives of a host of relatives and friends.
