Michael Parker Gibson

Michael Parker Gibson, age 33 was born January 11,1989 in Fulton County to Mary Parker and Michael Q. Gibson. Parker transitioned peacefully on March 5, 2022 at the University of Florida Health- Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. He was raised in Thomasville, GA and moved to Atlanta, GA as an adult.


He joined Blooming Light Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, accepted Christ as his Saviour, and his God.


Parker graduated with Honors from Thomasville High School class of 2007. He was active in Basketball, Band, Track, and Cross Country. He received his BSN in 2011 from Valdosta State University, where he pledged as #10 the "Phinishing Touch" under the Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc. Fraternity. He received his MSN from Walden University in 2016.


Parker was known for his kind heart, loving spirit, witty humor, and infectious laugh. His friends described his laugh as being contagious; it would uplift a frown. He was devoted to his family and friends, and believed that laughter was the best medicine. He was an Independent Contractor most of his nursing career. He enjoyed traveling as a nurse where he was located.


At the time of his illness, he was employed with Lake City Health & Rehab in Atlanta.


He leaves to cherish his memories, his parents, Mary Parker and Michael (Denise) Gibson; paternal grandparents, Sudie Roney and Amos Quarterman; his siblings, Schan (Carlos) Mclaurin, Danielle Thomas, Dominick (Willisaac) Chester, My'Kell Gibson; nieces, Madisyn Mclaurin, Bre'Niya Rivers; nephews, Braylen Mclaurin, Willisaac Chester, Jr. and Keegan Chester; God-daughter, Kyndall Wright. three extraordinary friends; Latrice Williams, Kristiana Hester, and Asia Lewis-Ross; a devoted uncle; Michael Parker, Sr. and a host of aunts, uncles, family and friends.


He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie & Florence Parker and sister, Brechellia Sheppard.


He was an AMAZING son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. He will truly be missed.
