Matthew C. Gibbs

Matthew C. Gibbs was born on August 21, 1952, to the late Clyde and Bertha Gibbs. He departed this life on April 1, 2025, at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital.

Matthew was a proud graduate of Magnolia High School. He went on to serve his country with honor, dedicating 20 years to the United States military—splitting his service between the Army and the Marine Corps.

After his military career, Matthew returned to Thomasville, Georgia, where he pursued life as an entrepreneur. He was well known in the community for his intriguing conversations, sharp mind, and warm presence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Bertha Gibbs, as well as his sisters: Beatrice Gibbs, Gertrude Gibbs, Corrine Gibbs, and Doris Gibbs.

Matthew leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Cynthia Millhouse of Spring Hill, Florida, his son Felix(Glenda) Neal of Atlanta; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Anthony Gibbs of Jacksonville, Florida. He is also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
