Gained her wings on December 29,2024. She was born on September 26, 1956 in Thomasville, GA to the late Parker Whitehead and Roberta Brown. She was a faithful member of St. James Primitive Baptist Church, where she served in the choir, the kitchen, and Sunday school teacher. Mary was a 1974 graduate of Thomasville High School.
After graduating high school, Mary was employed at Magnolia Chapelle and later transferred to Cross Creek Elementary School, where she retired after 28 plus years. Through her employment, she gained a lot of connections. She became the coffee maker, the pencil lady and the keyboarding teacher. She loved working for the school system and never missed a day up until she had to retire. She became lifelong friends with Priscilla Jenkins, Nina Bryant, and many more over the years working in the school system.
Mary loved to fish and she loved family. She loved family so much that she would call them everyday like clock work. She knew everyone's birthday and they were sure to get a call on their day. And if you knew Mary you know she dropped it like it was hot every chance she got. She was a beacon of light to everyone she came in contact with. She touched lives everywhere she went in such a way that they would always remember "MY NAME IS MARY WHITEHEAD".
She leaves to cherish her memory two children; Cedric McIntyre (Anita) and Priscilla McIntyre both of Thomasville, GA; A special daughter /niece; Betty Gilbert of Thomasville, GA; three grandchildren, Keith McIntyre (Natasha) of Thomasville, GA, Jonkevus Richardson of Valdosta GA, and Amber Richardson of Tampa, FL; four great grandchildren; James Dukes, Messiah Dukes, and Ma'Laisha Dukes all of Thomasville, GA, and Noah Jonkevus Richardson of Valdosta, GA; three sisters, Betty Whitehead and Shirley Whitehead both of Thomasville, GA, Bertha Whitehead of Jacksonville, FL; four brothers, Robert Whitehead of Thomasville, GA, Theodore Whitehead of Jacksonville, FL, Lewis Whitehead of Hallandale, FL, and Errick Whitehead of Waycross, GA.
