Mary Agnes Brinson Holton, age 82, was born in Metcalf, Georgia, on August 9, 1943. She was the beloved daughter of the late Thelma Ruth Daniels Brinson and the late Henry Brinson.
At an early age, Mary joined Paradise Missionary Baptist Church. She served faithfully as a Deaconess, as the church’s Financial Secretary for over 25 years, and in numerous other capacities for more than 70 years, until her health declined.
Mary graduated from Magnolia High School in Thomasville, Georgia, in 1962. After graduation, she was employed as a laundry specialist at Thomasville Laundry. She later attended LaCharm Beauty School, graduating in 1970 as a Cosmetologist, and went on to earn a Child Care Certificate from Thomas Technical School.
On July 28, 1963, Mary was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Robert C. Holton Sr. This union was blessed with four beautiful children.
Mary served alongside her husband in various business endeavors in the Thomas County area for more than 37 years. He founded Holton's Auto Service & Body Shop Inc., Holton's Phillips 66 Gas Station, and Holton's Farm Inc. To help make housing more affordable, he also established Vision & Wisdom and Family Homes Building Inc. Mary was instrumental in ensuring everything operated smoothly behind the scenes.
