Deaconess Martha Mae Holland Williams, 89, of Thomasville, Georgia, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Martha was born on June 10, 1937, in Thomasville, Georgia, to the late Pearson and Annie Ree Holland. She graduated from Douglas High School in 1954, where she excelled academically, was an outstanding basketball player, and possessed a God given musical talent, playing the piano; a gift known by few.

On June 5, 1958, she was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Walter James Williams, and together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, love, and family. Their union was blessed with four children, ten grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Martha devoted her life to caring for her family as a loving homemaker and, for a short time, was employed by Sunnyland Meat Packing Company.

At an early age, Martha accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined First Missionary Baptist Church, where her lifelong journey of faith began. She later united with Centennial Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a Deaconess and Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Aucilla Eastern Stars, serving as Assistant Worthy Matron.

Martha truly embodied the spirit of a Virtuous Woman: anchored in faith, gracious in spirit, compassionate in heart, and deeply devoted to God and those she loved. She exemplified patience, humility, perseverance, and unconditional love throughout her life. Affectionately known by her granddaughter as "one tough Cookie," she faced many health challenges with courage, quiet strength, and never a complaint. Her steadfast faith and resilient spirit made her our SHERO, as she met every obstacle with grace and complete trust in God.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Walter James Williams; her beloved children: Aaron J. Williams; Janice T. Williams; Beverly Renea (Luther "Luke") Stinson; and Ronald Todd (Kathryn) Williams, Sr. Grandchildren: Bryan (Bridget) Williams Sr. and Patrice Cunningham, both of whom she lovingly raised as her own; Kisha Williams; Aarin (Isais) Flowers; Kimberly Williams; Timothy (Jacqulyn) Stinson; Ashley Williams; Ronald Todd Williams, Jr.; Christine Williams; and Matthew Williams. Great-grandchildren: Bryana Scott, Bryan Williams, Jr., Ebere Cunningham, Gabrielle Williams, Gavin Williams, Taylor Stinson, Ava Stinson, Ashley Williams, and Ariel Brooks. Sisters-in-law, Belle Williams and Clara Cradle; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and her beloved Centennial Missionary Baptist Church family, who will forever treasure her memory.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Pearson and Annie Ree Holland; brothers, Lewis Holland and Luther Holland; her sisters, Bernice Rogers and Mary Alice Smith; and her great-grandson, Gabriel Williams.
