Marinda Thompson

September 2, 1953 — March 18, 2020

Mrs. Marinda Thompson was born September 2, 1953 in Cairo, Georgia to York Daniels and
Bertha Johnson.


Mrs. Thompson graduated from Cairo High School in 1971. She also received a two-year diploma
in Secretary of Science from Thomas Area Technical School, now known as Southern Regional
Technical College. She worked at Archold Memorial Hospital for 15 years in Patient Financial
Services and since then she has retired. Marinda was an active member of Providence Missionary
Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Silhouettes of Kappa Alpha Psi, INC.


Mrs. Thompson had a special place in her heart for children. She loved spending time with her
family, especially her grandchildren and she loved to travel.


She was a loving and devoted wife to Deacon J. T. Thompson of 42 years.


She departed the earth on March 18, 2020.


She leaves a legacy of love to cherish her memory, her husband, Deacon J. T. Thompson of
Thomasville, GA; her sons, Chadwick Thompson (Tabatha) of Valdosta, GA, James "Art"
Thompson, Jr of Albany, GA; brothers, Willie Johnson, Jr. of Thomasville, GA, David Daniels
(Thelma) of Thomasville, GA, Willie Williams (Jean) of Summerville, SC, Samuel Daniels
(Josephine) of Atlanta, GA, Carl Johnson of Queens, NY; sisters, Louise Green of Pennsylvania,
Ernestine McElven of Ballston, NY, Jessie Williams of Thomasville, GA, Hattie W. Tucker of
Lawrenceville, GA ; two sister-in-laws, Jacqueline Thompson and Elma Graham; 6 grandchildren,
Autumn, Chance, Brooklynn, Jariah, Chadney, Alyssa (Dante); 2 great grandchildren, special
friend, Betty Brook and "My Favorite Cousin" Elizebeth Davis and host of nieces, nephews ,
cousins and sorrowing friends.


Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her parents, York Daniels and Bertha Johnson and her
brother, Grant Daniels.
