Margaret 'Cutie' Banks, loving wife, and mother died unexpectedly on May 15, 2022. She was born on, January 17, 1955, to Murial and Mcfacqhar, in Kingston, Jamaica. Margaret completed her education in Kingston, last attending Duffs Business College.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Margaret. She loved music of all genres and she loved to laugh and enjoy special times with family and friends. She was an excellent cook of traditional Jamaican dishes, and the best meal were those she could sit for hours, chat and chew and reminisce. She had a special childhood bond with Rose, Paullette, Amoy, Tanya, Sharon, and Janet and sharing those memories, always brought her joy.
Margaret lived to serve others and to leave them better than they were before she met them. Her arms were always stretched out wide to extend a welcome and to give a helping hand to everyone that God placed in her path. Early in her career, she learned that she had a special calling on her life to work with people who needed a special hand and gentle heart, to exist in this world. When she moved to the United States, she worked from 1984-1986, at Oak Hill School in Hartford Ct., as a Teacher's Assistant, teaching children with mental disabilities, she served from 1987-2011 as the Director at ADT Workshop for the Mentally Disabled, at UCP Hope Center in Miami, Fl. and finally, she retired on March 1, 2022, from Thomas Grady Service Center where she served as Program Director for the Grady County program and later moved to Community Living Supports where she worked 1:1 with a young man whom she called friend. Margaret served eleven dedicated years at Thomas Grady Service Center, helping people with disabilities to live their best life, and giving her co-workers encouragement and support.
Margaret's boys, greatest memories of her when growing up, was that she was a doting mother, who gave them the special love and nurturing that they both needed. They remember watching her get so much joy out of loving on others and even with her work, she served beyond her duties. She always kept them in church and encouraged them to put their faith in God.
Margaret married her friend and confidant, and they shared the fruits of their labor together, cherishing every moment.
Margaret leaves joyous memories in the hearts of her devoted husband, Silvin, two sons, Steve, and Andrew, daughter, Molly, special niece, Peaches, grandchildren, along with a host of special relatives and friends.
