Loretta Hadley was born on May 16, 1958, in Thomasville, Georgia, to the parents of Elmo Sr. and Thelma Hadley, who preceded her in death. She was the youngest of three children and grew up with her sister, Janice, and brother, Elmo Jr.
As a child, she attended St. Thomas AME Church in Thomasville, Georgia. Loretta attended school in the Thomasville City School system.
She departed this life on September 10, 2025, at PruittHealth, Moultrie, Georgia.
Loretta was united in marriage to Horace Brown, Sr., on November 23, 1979. Loretta was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
Loretta enjoyed people and life. She could hold a conversation with anyone and never met a stranger. After marriage, she became a member of Hadley CME Church and later moved her membership to First Unity Missionary Baptist Church. After her health began to decline, she spent the last two years of her life at Pruitt Health in Moultrie, Georgia.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Brown, Sr.; father and mother, Elmo Hadley Sr. and Thelma Hadley; bonus son, Horace Brown Jr.; brother, Elmo Hadley, Jr.; grandmother, Beatrice Weston; aunt, Rheutelia Brown; and great grandson, Cain Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Lisa Hadley of Thomasville, GA and Pamela Hadley of Pelham, GA; one sister, Janice Strickland (Wallace) of Valdosta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Eric Hollis of Atlanta, GA, Amber Brown (Alex) of Sandy Springs, GA, Chyna Hadley of Pelham, GA, Janius Harrison of Pelham, GA; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Santana, Cadence Brown, and Yasira Tijerino; bonus daughter, Cassandra Brown of Charlotte, NC; two special friends, Patashia Fleming and Lucille Green and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
