Ms. Linda Shannon was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She entered eternal rest on April 10, 2025.
Linda Gene Shannon was born in Thomasville, GA, on August 14, 1956, to the late (father) Mr. Earl Shannon and (mother) Mrs. Annie Lee Shannon.
At an early age, Linda was converted and joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Metcalf, GA, where she started out singing in the choir, then she served on the Usher Board and the kitchen committee until she fell ill.
Linda graduated from Thomasville High School in 1974. After graduating, Linda attended Albany State University briefly, then she attended Thomas Technical College and received her degree in Clerical. She worked for the City of Thomasville for a few years. She later managed a restaurant and a hotel. Linda loved to clean and was very good at it. She had her own cleaning service, which helped people clean and organize their homes.
Linda was a free spirited person who loved to have a good time with her family and friends. She also loved watching movies. Her all time favorite movies were The Color Purple and The Temptations. When she entered the room she didn't know any strangers and she kept you laughing.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her Daughters: Rosanna Shannon and Crystal Hayes, both of Thomasville, GA; Granddaughter: Janya Cooper; Grandson: Javarreon Travis, both of Thomasville, GA; Sisters: Darlene Shannon-Thomas, Priscilla Ann Shannon; both of Thomasville, GA; Sister-in-law: Earnestine Shannon of Thomasville, GA; Nieces and Nephews: Anthony (Regina) Hardy Thomasville, GA; Trishun (Herbert) Futch of Ludowici, GA; Quimberly (Keith) Rollins of Dothan, AL; Jamaree Shannon, Latasha Gibson, Roshonda Sapp, Cynette Shannon, Katrina Sapp, and Sonya Thomas all of Thomasville, GA; Krystal Thomas, Kathleen, GA; Aunts: Queen (Charlie) Lamb, Johnnie (Paul) Guyton both of Metcalf, GA; Lorene (Frank) Engram and Flora Jean Guyton both of Thomasville, GA; Rebecca Pattmon of
Enterprise, AL; Betty Stephens and Christine McClendon both of Tampa, FL; Uncles: Frank Ceasar, Gary (Stephanie) Ceasar, John (Shirley) Ceasar and Alvin Ceasar all of Thomasville, GA; Bob Shannon, Jimmy Shannon, Eugene Shannon all of Tampa, FL; Robert Shannon Houston, Tx; Great-Aunts: Mary Alice (Herman) Hadley of Thomasville, GA; and Gladys Murray Mitchell of Columbus, GA; and a host of great nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends. Linda also had a special bond with one of her great nieces: A''Zjiya (Tootabug) Shannon, whom she adored and kept all time. Special friends: Mamie Davis-Linton, Leo Smart, and Richard Banks.
Linda was preceded in death by her Father: Earl Shannon; Mother: Annie Lee Shannon; Brother: Billy Shannon; Sisters: Arthina "Fennie" Shannon and Early Rene Sapp.
