Lillie Stockton brightened every room with laughter and love. She dedicated her life to her family and her faith. She will be missed, especially for her spirit of caring and her gift of baking. Lillie passed away peacefully at her home in Miramar, Florida, on August 28, 2025, surrounded by family.
Lillie was born on May 10, 1949, in Thomasville, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Rosalee Stockton Johnson and Clyde Stockton Sr. She was preceded in death by her six siblings: Clyde Stockton Jr., Barbara Stockton Burns, Willie Stockton, John Walker, Jr., Alice Mae McClendon, and Azzie Lee McNair. Lillie also shared a special bond with her devoted sister-in-law, Johnnie Mae Stockton, the wife of Willie Stockton, and adored her many nieces and nephews.
A woman of unwavering faith, Lillie accepted Christ at a young age and joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Thomasville, Georgia. After moving to Miami, she attended the Miami Revival Center for over 20 years. Later in life, Lillie became a dedicated member of Jesus People Ministries Church International, where she served faithfully in the Wisdom Generation Ministry. Lillie worked for many years as a mail clerk at the State Attorney's Office, from which she retired in 2020. She spent her retirement years enjoying the simple pleasures of life, cherishing moments with her family and friends. An excellent baker, she was known for her incredible cakes and often shared her talent with friends and family.
Above all, Lillie's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughter, Regina Wimberly, her son-in-law, Reginald Wimberly, and her four cherished grandchildren, Reginald Wimberly Jr., Rianna Wimberly, Rosalyn Wimberly, Rashanda (Wimberly) Ferretti, and her grandson-in-law, Derek Ferretti. Her memory will be treasured, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
