Lillie Pearl Rayford was born on March 20, 1947 to James and Mattie Elijah in Bainbridge, Georgia.
She attended Savannah State University where she met the love of her life, Harry Rayford Sr. Lillie Pearl Elijah was a graduate of Valdosta State University. She earned a B.S. degree and a Masters degree in Business Education with a minor in accounting. She worked as an educator in Business and she was also a diversified Cooperative Training Instructor. She retired after 29 years of service.
She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. from which she served diligently. She also volunteered at the food bank for several years.
Lillie was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as President, Deaconess and Mother's Board, Sunday School Teacher, Special Projects Coordinator, Coordinator of 100th Church Anniversary, Chairperson, Benevolent Committee, Chairperson of Women's Day Programs, Chairperson of the Pastor's 25th and 35th Anniversary, Vacation Bible School Coordinator and Organized the Voices of Praise Choir.
She leaves to cherish her memories, the love of her life, her husband of 57 wonderful years, Harry Rayford; her three children, Gregory Eric Rayford (Veronica) of Newnan, GA. Harrison Rayford (Veronica) of New York, New York. Michelle Rayford – Williams (Corey) of Thomasville GA; three grandchildren, Mattea and Stella Rayford of New York, and Harrison E. Williams of Thomasville GA; one sister, Eleanor Elijah Hagins and her two children, William D. Hagins (Miroslava) and Nicole T. Hagins. Also, the daughter of Otis Elijah, Sanya D. Elijah and a host of other relatives and friends.
She departed this life on January 20, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie and James Elijah and her brother, Otis Elijah.
