Lewis Ivey Martin

July 22, 1987 — October 10, 2024

Lewis Ivey Martin was born on July 22, 1987, in Thomasville, Georgia, to Rhonda A. Martin and Jenkins Ivey, Sr.  On October 10, 2024, God called him home, bringing his earthly journey to a close and welcoming him into eternal rest.

Lewis attended Thomas County Central High School until relocating to Tampa, Florida.  Then, he graduated from Gary Adult School, also located in Tampa. Lewis confessed his faith in Christ and was baptized while he was in Kentucky.  Lewis loved to draw and was fond of telling jokes; some of which were very blunt.  Lewis attributed his joke-telling trait to his mother and others agreed.  Lewis also loved sports.  His favorite sports teams were Florida State University and the Jacksonville Jaguars.  His favorite baseball player was Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was employed at Parker Meggit of Danville, Kentucky, a company that designs, manufactures, and services components and systems for the aerospace, defense, and energy industries. Needless to say, Lewis loved his job.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted, loving mother, Rhonda Adrienne Martin; father, Jenkins Ivey, Sr. (Audrey); Son, Davyion (DJ); siblings: Destiny Bryant, Aundrey Walker, Jr., Maurice Cameron, Jenkins Ivey, Jr. (Sherranda), Kimberly Ivey,  Sharee Ivey, and Shakerra Ivey; grandparents: Arplee Ivey, Priscilla W. Martin, and Brenda Golden (Mark); maternal uncles and aunt: devoted Uncle Frank Martin IV, Preston Martin, and Joy Felton, Sr. (Joe); three paternal uncles and three paternal aunts; maternal aunts including Aunt Charlotte Parker, Aunt Natasha Martin, Aunt Denyse Rainely, and Aunt Phyllis Scott; friends/brothers:  Mychal Gatlin, CJ Whitaker, and Terrence Brown; special cousins:  Henry Parker, Jr. (Sandra), Kenyata Hayward, and Kentareous Andrews.

Also cherishing his memories are a host of other cousins, family members, and friends.  Special recognition to the staff, managers, and co-workers of Parker Meggitt:  John Phillips, George Beasley, Tony Smith, and Codey Stevens.
