Lettie Mae Jones

Lettie Mae Jones was born on February 7, 1939, to the Late Lonnie Virgil and the Late Elizabeth Crutcher-Meeks. She departed this life peacefully on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
She was a beautician by trade and ran a beauty salon from her home for many years. Lettie was a graduate of the Charme Beauty School operated by Mrs. Gertrude Horne.
She joined the St. James Primitive Baptist Church of Dewey City, Thomasville, Georgia at an early age and later in life became a member of Celebration Church of Thomasville under the leadership of Pastor Bryson. She worked faithfully with many ministries and attended Open Arms Outreach Church under the guidance of Pastor Bessie Clark. She was a faithful prayer warrior and incorporated prayer in her everyday life.
In 1973, she met and married Mr. Walter Jones, who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish precious memories, her daughters, Cynthia Jones, Acworth, Georgia; Jessica Ross, Thomasville, Georgia; son, Sheldon Jones, Sr., Thomasville, Georgia; five granddaughters: Kandice Gabriel (Michael) and Dorbartha Mickens, both of Thomasville, Georgia; Lashonda Mickens, Acworth, Georgia; Akeelah Jones and Germani Jones, both of Tallahassee, Florida; three grandsons: Sheldon Jones, Jr, Ja'Kamryn Cason, and Jesse Ross, all of Thomasville, Georgia; brother, Leo Virgil, Sr. of Thomasville, GA; cousins, Cora L. Moody-Holt and Henry L. Moody (Mary); devoted friend and caregiver, Ms. Betty Morton, all of Thomasville, Georgia; along with many other friends, relatives, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Jackson-Williams; sister, Allean Ross, and brothers, Melvin Chapple, Henry Virgil, Earnest Morrow, Sr., and William Meeks.
