Lakisha Cooney

January 22, 1978 — June 2, 2024

Very gently and peacefully on Sunday morning, June 2, 2024, the Almighty God in his infinite wisdom, mercy, and grace gently closed the eyes of our beloved Lakisha Shawntee' Cooney and she entered her eternal rest.

Lakisha Cooney, 46, was born in Thomasville, GA on January 22, 1978, to Janet Glenn Clark and the late Eddie Louis Cooney Sr. At the early age of 10, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Lakisha joined Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. In her younger years, she sung in the junior choir. Later, she moved her membership to The House of Joy. As her children grew older, she rejoined Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church.

Lakisha attended Thomas County Central High School and graduated in 1996. She went on to further her education at Thomas Technical School.

Lakisha was a very sweet, caring, and Godly person. She was loved by many and will always be remembered for her kind spirit. Lakisha loved her children and grandson dearly. She loved being around her family and friends.

Lakisha leaves behind her warm and sweet memory. This legacy includes her one daughter, X'andria Shynese Green and one son, X'zontae Shymond Green, both of Boston, GA; mother, Janet (Roscoe) Clark of Boston, GA; two brothers, Eddie Louis Cooney Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; Anthony Clark Sr. of Thomasville, GA;  grandmother, Louise (Bishop Leroy) Cooney Jackson  of Boston, GA; one niece, Gabrielle Cooney of Jacksonville, FL; three nephews, AJ Clark of Boston, GA, Cannon Clark and Kash Clark of Thomasville, GA and a host of caring aunts, uncles, relatives and sorrowing friends.
