Keonna Yaminah Jackson Johnson born on March 16, 1983, in Valdosta, Georgia, to James R. Bryant and the late Athye Oneida Jackson Carter, departed this life on November 15, 2025. She leaves behind an unforgettable legacy of love, compassion, and selfless service.
From an early age, Keonna carried a light within her, a gentle spirit that touched everyone she encountered. She was known for her ability to make people feel seen, valued, and cared for. Whether she was offering a listening ear, stepping in to help without being asked, or brightening a room with her laughter; Keonna had a way of making life feel a little softer for those around her.
Her acts of kindness were woven into the everyday moments of her life: bringing meals to friends in need, checking on neighbors, encouraging young people in her community, and reminding her family through actions and words that love is best shown, not just spoken. Her presence was a comfort, her humor a gift, and her support unwavering.
Keonna shared a beautiful and devoted marriage of 21 years with her husband, Roddy D. Johnson. Together they built a home grounded in love, laughter, and resilience. She was a proud and loving mother to her three children, Bryana Sharp, Roddy Johnson Jr., and Ryleigh Johnson, who were truly the center of her world. She poured her heart into nurturing them, celebrating their victories, guiding them through challenges, and teaching them by example how to love deeply and live generously.
Keonna embraced her calling as a registered nurse with passion and dedication. Nursing was not just her profession, it was her ministry. She cared for patients with patience, tenderness, professionalism and dignity, often going above and beyond to ensure that each person felt safe, respected, and uplifted. Her coworkers admired her warmth, her reliability, and the joy she brought into even the heaviest of days
Keonna’s life was a testament to grace in action. She moved through the world with a rare gentleness, offering kindness without hesitation , laughter, and love without limits. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and all who were blessed to experience her light.
She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Oneida Jackson; grandmother, L.H. Jackson and grandfathers, John Jackson, Jr. and James I Bryant.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Roddy D. Johnson, Sr.; her children, Bryana K. Sharp, Roddy D. Johnson, Jr., Ryleigh D. Johnson, Johntavis Johnson (Keasza); a grandson, Bryson Herring; father, James Bryant; grandmother, Jacqueline Bryant; sisters, April Jackson (Bernard), Asa Carter, and Sada Roan; brothers, Bernard Carter Jr., Javoris Bryant (Tawanna), and Ladarius Davis; aunts, Joni Jackson-Chastain (Philip), Gwendolyn Bryant, Kathy Chatmon (James), Patrice Bryant, and Deborah Bryant; uncles, Michael Bryant, and Jeffery Bryant; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
