John Knight

March 23, 1957 — August 6, 2021

John L. Knight was born in Thomasville, Ga on March 23, 1957, to the late Mildred Petty and the late John L. Knight Sr. He was raised by both, his mother and his late grandmother, Louise B.Laster.

John was a graduate of Thomasville High School in 1976 ( Thomasville Ga). He then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served 4 years.

John leaves behind his beautiful wife, Beatrice Knight, who he married on October 6, 1995. She stuck by his side through good times and bad times, and truly honored the vow " until death do us part" To this union God blessed him with five stepchildren, who he considered as his own children: daughter, Teresa Williams. son, Johnny Williams , son Stacy Solomon who preceded him in death, daugter, Loristine Brown ( Moses Brown), and daughter, Sabrina Walden ( Dennis Walden).

John was the eldest child of all his siblings. He leaves behind his brother Glen Knight ( Janie), brother Hillmar Patterson , sister, Jewel Wilson, brother Bernard Knight (Kosheka) of Lawton OK, brother, Christopher Knight, brother, Robert Petty, brother, Lorenzo Knight ( Wendy). brother Morris Knight ( Annette ), brother Johnny Knight ( Cathy) and brother Stanton Knight ( Denise) of Tallahassee, FL. Sister Jewel Wilson. Two sisters preceded him in death, Katrina Lee and Sharon Jones.

He also leaves to cherish his memory, his stepfather, Robert Petty, Sr.

John loved to make people laugh even when his health began to fail. He was a member of Mt. Sinai Apostolic Church. He will be extremely missed by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
