Miss Jessie Mae McClain was born on October 6, 1938 in Coolidge, GA to Mrs. Eula Mae McClain and Mr. George Washington McClain, Sr. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
She joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She was faithful member until her health began to fail. She served on the usher board for over forty years and was encouraged to retire due to her age. She immediately joined the Sr. Choir a loved every minute of being a choir member. She attended the Thomas and Grady Service Center for over 60 years. She cleaned the church and church grounds for over 40 years. She was dedicated and committed to whatever she was asked to do. She was the greatest UNO player in GA.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Washington McClain, Sr., her mother, Eula Mae Olive McClain, her siblings and in laws, Susie Brown, Homer McClain, Lola (Levi) Brinson, Ruby (Eddie) Johnson, Annie (Willie James) Burkes, George Washington (Mae Francis) McClain, Jr. and Carol Jean (Lonnie) Robinson, Sr.
She leaves to mourn, her only child, Tryonne McClain; her caregiver and special niece, Joyce Spears, Brenda Calhoun, Sherry McClain, Janice Johnson, Marina Robinson; nephews, Levi Brinson, Jr., Clyde Johnson, Will Burkes, Charles Johnson, Danny Graham, Lonnie Robinson, Jr.; special friend, Terry Bryant and a host of great, great-great, great-great-great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
