Obituary

Jeanetta Joan Rushton was born on January 5, 1965, to Fred Lee Rushton, Jr. and Iqurna Joan Rushton on Andrews Air Force Base in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Jeanetta graduated from McKenzie High School in 1981. That same year, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Solomon's Temple. For several years, she shared her love of gospel music by singing alongside her sisters in a group called The Rushton Sisters.

In 1987, Jeanetta began her career as a nail technician. In 2005, she relocated from Detroit to Thomasville. She later became employed at Camellia Gardens, where she served as the Assistant Supervisor of Environmental Services.

Jeanetta leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Janae Pickens; her beloved grandson, Elijah Pickens; her parents, Fred Rushton and Iqurna Rushton; and her sisters, Benetta Rushton, Patrice Hudson (Lavoris Hudson), and Veretta Coleman. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Vondell Lee Rushton, her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
