Janette Mickens was born September 10,1960 in Mitchell County, Georgia, to the late (Elijah) and Flossie Mickens.
Janette attended Camden High School in Camden, New Jersey, where she was raised until adulthood. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Antoinette Carstarphen, Camden, New Jersey, Margie Chase, Atlanta, Georgia. brothers, John Mickens, Albany, Georgia, Rickey (Betty) Mickens, Albany, Georgia, Archie Mickens, Thomasville, Georgia. Henry (Dean) Mickens, Camilla, Georgia, David (Lashaun) Mickens, Thomasville, Georgia, Willie Cole, Miami, Florida; grandchildren, Capri Mickens, Vernesha Mickens, Vernon Cleveland, TineshaJohnson, Quanterius Mickens, Morgan Mickens, Akiria Sessions, Kendrick Mickens, and AlayaMickens; great grandchildren, Jade, Cree, Nova, Aries and Davionna; two special nieces, Angel Vicks and Lisa Edwards and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
