Iver Wayne Harper was born February 6, 1964, in Thomasville, Georgia, to Mr. Robert Iver Harper and Ms. Betty Pettis-Harper.
At an early age, he joined the Willow Head Missionary Baptist Church, where he sang in the Junior Choir. He and his three brothers sang in a gospel group where he sang tenor. He was beloved by everyone.
He attended and graduated in 1982 from Thomasville High School where he played football and was a member of the high school band. He was an extremely gifted artist, competing in several drawing competitions. Wayne was also an automobile aficionado; this affection would play a significant role in his future.
Around October of 1999, Wayne met the love of his life (Melany Burton) on a car lot, and the motor has been running ever since. Wayne and his wife, Melany, married on December 12, 2007.
He was at his happiest spending time with his wife, grilling, enjoying his yard, driving his Corvette and playing with his dog, Mindi as well as hosting social events with his friends/family. His Superbowl parties were the best! What truly brought him joy was making others laugh and smile. He never met a stranger, and they knew they had a friend when they departed company.
**His pride and joy was his son, Bobby. He absolutely adored his son.
He is survived by his wife, Melany Burton Harper; his sons, Robert Wayne and Bobby Nathanal Harper; his mother, Betty Pettis Harper; three brothers, Sidney (Tammy), Perry (Deborah), and Robbie; one sister, Minister Sha Harper-Foster of Clarkesville, TN. and a host of uncles and aunties.
