Ira Ronnell Mccray

Ira Ronnell McCray was born February 8,1954 in Thomas County, Georgia to P. J. and Christine Perkins McCray, whom both preceded him in death.

Ira became a member of Aucilla Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 8. He graduated from Thomasville High School class of 1974. He later joined Army. Once he returned to Thomasville, GA, he became employed at Southwestern State Hospital for over 30 years.

Ira was a kind heart person. He was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He departed this life on November 19, 2024.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife, Janice McCray of Thomasville, GA; son, Toron McCray of Augusta, GA; daughters, Keyanna Thomas of Atlanta, GA, Harrbrianna Biggins of Texas; sister, Dorothy McCray Nyame (Joseph) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; niece in law, Tiffany (Jojoshua) Biggins-Davis; nephew in law, Montreal (Cher) Biggins; ten grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. We are all heartbroken Ira will be very much missed.

Ira was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Mantrel McCray; brother P. J. McCray, Jr. and sister in law, Charlene Davenport.
