MR. HERBERT LEE FUTCH, SR.

A TIME TO BE BORN – On November 11, 1937, was born to the late Evelina Beverly Robinson and Gabe Futch in Thomasville, Georgia.

A TIME TO GROW – He was reared by his parents and grandparents the late Bosie Beverly and Carrie Beverly. He attended New Unity of Boston, GA.

A TIME TO LOVE – Herbert was proceeded in death by his wife Luvenia B. Futch. "Herbert was the father of the three children. He was very transparent and raised his children to be independent and taught them to through adversity. Herbert was affectionately known as Mr. Futch, never met a stranger and knows everyone. He could laugh, joke, and talk to anyone he met for hours.

A TIME TO WORK – Herbert began his labor at an early age while in high school. He worked at Coats of America for 20 plus years and retired from the Thomasville City School System with 25 years of service.

A TIME TO SERVE – Herbert served as a faithful, dedicated, member of Glasglow A.M.E. Church for 75 years. He served in the capacity of a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and Financial Treasurer.

A TIME TO DIE – God saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. He gently closed Herbert loving eyes, and whispered, "Peace be Thine". The weary hours, the days of pain, the sleepless nights are passed. The ever patient, weary frame, has found sweet rest at last. Very gently and peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom, mercy, and grace gently closed the eyes of our beloved Herbert Lee Futch, Sr., and he entered his eternal rest.

A TIME TO BE REMEMBER – He leaves behind a beautiful legacy filled with favor and warm memories. This legacy is left to his children; devoted sons, 1Sgt (Retired) Ronald (Sherry) Futch, Hinesville, GA SSG Herbert (Trishun) Futch, Ludowici, GA; loving daughter, Lashunda (Quention) Rauls, Thomasville, GA.

Treasure grandchildren: Michael Futch, LaQuanda Billingslea (Kelvin), Jacoby Futch, Makaya Robinson-Futch, Tyler Futch, Rylan Futch, DeMariyon Futch, Rashard Futch, Trivon Williams (Candice), Aleecia Futch, D'Andre Futch, Quention Rauls, Jr., Leelan Rauls, and Brianna Rauls; Great-grandchildren: Zy'Trevion Berry, Kaden Futch, Tamia Williams, Taylor Williams, Carter Williams, Journey Fuller, Mikayla Billingslea and Journee Billingslea.

Brothers: Robert (Frieda) Robinson, Levy (Marcile) Robinson, and Ronnie Futch; Sisters: Vinnie Arkins, Ruby McMillian, and Deborah Futch Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Herbert was preceded in death by his siblings; Felix McMillian, Naomie Robinson, Pam Futch Mann, Gregory Futch, and Edward Futch.
