Henry Preston Shaw was born on February 27, 1995 to Mr. Henry Shaw and Mrs. Eva Humphreys Shaw. He is grandson of the late Reverend Erastus and Mrs. Elizabeth Humphreys and Mr. Jim and Mrs. Nettie Mae Shaw.
Preston, as he was called by everyone, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a faithful member of St. Thomas AME Church, where he served as the usher.
Preston graduated from Thomas County Central High School with a General Diploma while also attending Thomas Technical College obtaining an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. He also obtained an Associate Degree from Ogeechee Technical College in Mortuary Science and received a State of Georgia License as an Apprentice Funeral Director and Embalmer.
He was passionately known for his service as a Licensed Funeral Director Embalmer Apprentice at Hopkins Mortuary, Inc in Thomasville, GA. He was full of life and smiles. His spirit touched everyone he came in contact with during his life journey. He will always be remembered for his service at Hopkins Mortuary, reciting poems and always serving families with dignity and respect.
Preston ran his last miles as he liked to do and departed this earth on Sunday, September 12, 2021.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Henry Shaw; his mother, Eva Humpreys-Shaw; his siblings, Rashonda (Jabari) Bryant of Thomasville, GA, Dewayne Hewitt of Sarasota, Andrea Shaw of Boston, GA and Teasha Shaw of Valdosta, GA; nieces, Kasmika Shaw, Zyquayia Shaw and Paityn Bryant; nephews, Dionte Shaw and Desmond Bryant; one great niece, Nova Cason. He also leaves to mourn, his very special friends, Monique Coleman, Olivia Blalock and a host of aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by many close relatives, his brother Chris Bryant, and his very special son/friend "Jackson". Preston will be missed by many citizens of Thomasville, Thomas County, Georgia.
