Henry Lee Moody

Mr. Henry Lee Moody was born to the late Lillie Bell Moody-Wilkerson on December 9, 1945, in Thomas County, Georgia.

At an early age, he joined Richland Missionary Baptist Church. After his family moved to Thomasville, Georgia, he became a member of the First Born Church of the Living God under the pastoral guidance of the Late Elder McQueen. He later joined the Second Presbyterian Church and was a faithful member until his health failed.

A veteran in the US Army, Henry served honorably from 1965-1969. Additionally, he served in various support roles for the Maintenance Department culminating in being Head Custodian with the Thomas County School System with 30+ years of service.

Henry married his forever love, Mary S. Moody in 1989. He departed this life on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, nine days after she transitioned from this life.

Henry leaves to cherish precious memories: two daughters, Nickie Nicole Hines of Bainbridge, GA and Gloria Michelle Head (Scottie) of Tampa, FL; one step-daughter, Lydia Alston (Warren) of Houston, TX; one stepson, Leroy Modelist, Sr. (Catherine) of Cairo, GA; one sister, Cora Lee Moody-Holt of Thomasville, GA and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary S. Moody, and stepsons: Terrance Modelist, and Harry Modelist, Jr.; special cousin, Lettie Mae Jones, and beloved mother, Lillie Bell Moody-Wilkerson.
