Henry "Lamar" Davis, born on August 24, 1979, in Thomasville, GA, was fortunate to have both biological and bonus parents: Henry Lee "Redd" (Betty) Davis, both deceased, and Nettie Jean Bradley, as well as his bonus parents, Apostles William L. and Linda Bradley. He was cherished by his biological and bonus siblings: Dr. Samantha Thompson, Macon, GA, Sabrina Bradley, Min. Christopher (Sabrana) Bowdry, Shameka Bowdry, and preceded in death by sister, Schontell Crumby, all of Thomasville, GA and uncle, James Davis, Thomasville, GA. He was also dearly beloved by his aunt, Nicola (Louis) Martin, Boca Raton, FL; his late aunt, Elizabeth Carter; uncle, Frank Davis, Texas; aunt, Julia Ann Davis, Tifton, GA; and God sister, Rose Jordan, Tallahassee, FL.
Lamar graduated from Thomasville High School, with a welding certification from Thomasville Technical College in 1997. Having developed a passion for cars, which he shared with his father "Redd," he built his first car at age 16. He pursued his interest by graduating as a certified auto mechanic in 2011 from Wyotech in Pennsylvania. Lamar was known for his expertise in car detailing, servicing, painting, and customization. Additionally, he enjoyed grilling, often gathering with family, friends, and his children: Lamoria L., Brycen L. (w/bonus sibling Treniece Preston), King L., Kennedi L. Davis, and his special "niece-daughter," Miracle B. Lamar's love for grilling was a staple at any gathering, whether at home or in the park.
Despite initially resisting his calling, Lamar eventually accepted the call to preach, influenced by a family of ministers and his upbringing in Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Thomasville, GA. During his journey of recovery, Lamar sought growth through reading and reflection, understanding that Believers are a work in progress. Was he perfect? No. Was he sorry about his choices? Yes!!! The family believes his last words on this Earth were "I'm Sorry." Lamar's new spiritual journey was shaped by the teachings of Zion Christian Outreach Ministries (Apostles William and Linda Bradley) and Revelation Moment TV (Apostle Jermaine and Pastor Nicole Johnson). He leaves behind a community of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, 'brothers,' neighbors, co-workers, and friends who will dearly miss him.
His struggle between the old man and the new was real. Each of us who loved him supported him when we could and prayed for him often. As we who are living run this race with Grace, please choose this day who you will serve because life is a vapor (Joshua 24:15; James 4:14 NKJV).
Rest in Peace, our "LDKustoms, Grill Master!"
