God closed his eyes and whispered "Peace" to Gregory in the late afternoon on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Gregory Antonio Hadley is the youngest child born to the late Walter Reed Hadley, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Burns Hadley on August 28, 1961. Being the youngest, Gregory was spoiled by his father and mother. Gregory attended and graduated from the public school system in Thomas County, Georgia. He attended South Coolidge Elementary School first through third grade, Garrison Pilcher fourth and fifth grade, Gladys Chappell sixth grade, Magnolia Middle School seventh through eighth grade, and Thomas County Central ninth through twelfth grade. He also attended Georgia State College in Atlanta, Georgia and Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia.
At an early age, Gregory was converted and became a member of Saint George Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, where he was active in the life of the church. Being a devoted member of Saint George Chapel CME Church, he serves on the Steward Board, Church Choir, President of the Fourth Sunday Sing for three years and Church Christmas Parade Committee. In 2018. Gregory was instrumental in getting an organ for the church.
In high school, Gregory played trumpet in the marching band. His most memorable occasion was playing a trumpet solo at the City of Thomasville, Georgia Rose Show Parade and being commended by President Jimmy Carter who was in attendance. He also was a member of the Esquire Club, FBLA, (Future Business Leaders of America), and Glee Club. He received many awards, such as High School Basketball and Academic Scholar, Future Farmer of the Year Award, and Band Trumpet Award.
Gregory played basketball in high school where he received many accolades and trophies for his exceptional basketball skills. He received a basketball scholarship to attend Georgia State College in Atlanta, Georgia. Gregory graduated from Thomas University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
Gregory was the proprietor of GAH Landscape Company and was a certified tax preparer with H & R Block.
Gregory leaves to mourn, his wife, Andrea Harris Hadley; children, Robin Blake of Thomasville, GA, Kiley Hester of Fayetteville, NC and Gregory Albert Hadley of Atlanta, GA; step son, Richard C. Benyard of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Taylor, Jaden, Mason, Kyli, Jr, Zoe, Zion, Jalen, Sarai, sisters, Christine Hadley Bynum, Beverly White (Roosevelt) both of Thomasville, GA, Carolyn Denise Hadley of Pontiac, MI; two brothers, George Westley Hadley (Evelyn) of Atlanta, GA, Dr. Issac Samuel Hadley (Linda) of Columbus, GA; brothers in law, Thomas Harris (Tania) of Albany, GA, Douglas Hall (Jacqueline) of Auburn, GA, Barry Harris (Debbie) of Northridge, CA, Roderick Harris (Josie) of DC, Daryl Harris of Tallahassee, FL; sisters in law, Glenda Barnett (Andrew) of Laurel, MD, Faye Weaver of Thomasville, GA, Marva Hall of Dublin, GA, Sharon Lilly of NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Antonio Hughes; sisters, Lillie Ruth Hadley Holsey, Georgia Hadley Thomas; brothers, Dock Lee Joseph Hadley, Amos Daniel Hadley, Dr. Randolph Rodney Hadley, William Yancey Hadley, Walter Hadley, Jr., Lemuel Hadley and Dr. Richard Hadley.
