Franklin Lamar Gordon, age 73, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024, at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 12, 1950, in Bainbridge, GA, to Sara Louise Williams and L.T. Gordon, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Hutto High School in 1970. On June 19, 1970, he made his way to Thomasville, GA, where he attended Thomas Technical School, to get a trade-in brick masonry. He made a career as a brick mason until he became disabled. Frank will be remembered for his sense of humor and his melodic voice. He loved to sing. You could often hear him whistling, which sounded better than the average voice.
Big Frank was the third of nine children; sisters, Louticia Mckelven, Raylisa Samuel Bainbridge, GA, Betty Wheeler, Plainfield, New Jersey, and Jewel Mitchell, Gainesville, FL. He had several siblings that preceded him in death, Sandra Gordon, Beverly Roberts, Dwight Haire, Authur Gordon, and Charles Gordon. His brother Willie West transitioned two days after him.
He leaves behind to cherish his children, Natasha (Cindi) Gordon, Copra Robinson (Willie), Brie Byrd, and Vantez Gordon, all of Thomasville, GA, Diangela (Trevino) Ellis, Moultrie, GA and Reberto Robinson (Kristen) Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Jacquia Byrd, Ra'Driana Bean, Wan'Tajah Morris, Wy'Kiyah Morris, Roberto Robinson, Jr., Ja'keyeria Mills, Jamarion Mills, Thomasville, GA, Jakari Byrd, Moultrie, GA and Tylan Robinson, Taelyn Robinson, Tycen Robinson, and Trysten Robinson, Tallahassee, FL and Janiah Ellis of Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Xavier Jackson, Trenton Byrd, Ramal and Rowen Prophet, Reign Robinson Jasiah Robinson, and Jordan Robinson.
