Floydzell Levard Sampson, born on May 24, 1965, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025. He was a beloved member of his family and a cherished friend to many. Born to Florrie M. Sampson, David Sampson, Sr., and Lewis Wilson, Floydzell 's legacy is marked by resilience, love, and faith.
A graduate of Thomasville High School, Floydzell furthered his education by attending Stillman College. Throughout his life, he was deeply rooted in his faith, taught the Word of God at Willow Head Missionary Baptist Church from childhood, a foundation that guided him through both challenging and joyful times.
An unfortunate work-related injury altered the course of Floydzell 's life, yet he faced the challenges that came his way with unwavering strength and grace. For over 30 years, he experienced the profound support and management through the Grace of Jesus, which became a significant pillar in his life. His love for family was evident, particularly in his unique relationship with his niece Pilar, who lovingly referred to him as her uncle/brother combo. Alongside this bond, he affectionately called his sister Shirley "Momma."
His surviving siblings will deeply miss Floydzell: Shirley Sampson Forte, David Sampson, Jr., Karlton Sampson, and Alvin Sampson. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Paul B. Sampson, Laretta E. Sampson, and Christine Sampson Barnes.
His life touched many, and he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who will carry his memory in their hearts. Floydezell’s enduring spirit and the lessons he shared remind us that “the outcome isn’t for you to control, the pain isn’t forever, no matter how it feels, the Father has every kind of healing you need…”
